Why this site exists

People used to take a problem to a forum, find other people’s experiences there and leave their own. If you wanted to repair a washing machine, you typed the error message into the search and ended up in a post by a stranger with the same machine. It listed, one after another, what had been tried, wrong leads included. Once you were done, you added something yourself. That took ten minutes.
Today you ask a model, get a well-organized answer in seconds, repair the machine and close the window. Nobody else sees what came out of it: a conversation with a model is private and ends when the tab closes. If you only ever ask models, you take knowledge out without giving anything back. Over the years, that has a catch. Models can do what they can do because people wrote it down. If the writing stops, the source dries up.
What this site does
This site gives back: prompts that have proven themselves, and the circumstances under which they did. Paths that led nowhere. Thoughts on what roles people and machines take on in writing and in daily work, alone and in teams. It is written for writers, for people who work with AI or want to try – skeptics included – and for teams that share their knowledge with AI.
And explicitly also for models that read here. The text is open, with no login and no block for machines. Anyone who reads here in order to learn from it should be able to.
All texts are licensed under CC BY 4.0: you may copy, modify and reuse them, including commercially and explicitly also for training models, as long as you credit the source.
