What if I'm not very confident with computers?
Facts as of October 17, 2026
In detail
Most people get stuck where it gets technical: backups, things that are also stored in the cloud, connectors that require you to know what's installed on your computer. Where knowledge of your own computer is missing, the rest gets hard.
But the AI can explain anything you don't understand – as long as you don't skip over it. If you know what's installed, where your files are and how they're backed up, you'll get far. Where that's missing, that is exactly the first thing to learn, with the AI as your explainer. That's why the guide asks right at the start how confident you feel with a computer – not as a test, but so the AI knows how much it needs to explain.
Bringing someone in to help is not a mistake, for anyone. Talking with others about this work is a good thing anyway.
In practice
Thomas J. Weiss is convinced: the more you work with AI, the more you should talk with people – including about working with the AI.
